Bafang is unveiling production versions of its M510RS and M560RS racing-sport eMTB drive systems at the International Bike Festival in Misano, Italy, from 4–6 September 2026, with mass production planned for the fourth quarter. Both systems add a six-axis IMU and new software functions designed to respond more precisely to rider input and terrain.

The M510RS delivers 110 Nm peak torque and up to 1,100 W peak output, with a short-duration Boost-to-Limit function that raises torque to 120 Nm and assistance to 800%. The M560RS moves further, with 120 Nm base peak torque, up to 150 Nm in Boost-to-Limit and 1,700 W peak output. The direction is clear: performance eMTB competition is increasingly about sensor fusion, control algorithms and short-burst power—not only motor size.

WHY IT MATTERS• High-performance mid-drive systems are moving toward motorcycle-like peak figures while retaining pedal-assist control logic.• Software, terrain sensing and response time are becoming major differentiators between drive-system suppliers.• Bike brands will need to balance headline performance with thermal management, battery sizing, legal market versions and ride feel.
