Manufacturer information
Giant’s official comparison lists SyncDrive Pro 3 with a 48V architecture, up to 90Nm of torque, 800W maximum power, 400% support and a claimed motor weight of 2.6kg. The headline power is peak output, not continuous rated power or a complete description of the bicycle’s permitted use.
Exact naming matters. Giant lists the separate SyncDrive Pro 3X at 36V and up to 100Nm. These similar names do not identify interchangeable specifications. A comparison that omits the full drive-unit designation can therefore be misleading.
Industry interpretation
For an e-bike product team, the useful lesson is to evaluate the electrical package rather than one torque number. A purchasing brief should identify the motor, compatible battery and charger, control hardware, firmware and support arrangements together.
Retail demonstrations can then complement the specification sheet. Ask how the complete bicycle responds during a steep start, repeated climbing and lower-assistance riding, rather than relying solely on maximum output.
For an importer considering a different 48V platform, these figures are a reference—not proof of equivalent performance. Comparable tests and clear documentation remain necessary before making like-for-like marketing claims.
