Bosch announced Hub Line, its first hub motor within the smart system, alongside the slim PowerTube 360 battery. The launch expands the company’s urban offering beyond the mid-drive systems for which it is known.

According to Bosch, the motor provides 45 Nm of torque and weighs approximately 2.3 kg. Its design decouples the motor above 25 km/h to reduce resistance. The battery stores 360 Wh, and its installation can be removable or fixed depending on the bicycle manufacturer’s design.

The system connects with the eBike Flow app and supports compatible eShift electronic shifting. These are manufacturer specifications, not results from an independent road test.

Industry implications

For brands, the opportunity is a commuter bicycle built around manageable weight, tidy integration and predictable everyday use. Product comparisons should include complete-bike weight, battery access and repairability. A small battery can suit a short commute, but capacity alone cannot establish a reliable real-world range.
